Unreached People
At least 1.5 billion people in the world have NEVER even heard about Christ and the Good News. How easily that number slides off our lips with little comprehension of what it means! One of the problems is that we are myopic and see what is close to us. That is why 97.5% of the money in the (U.S.) offering plates stays at home and only 2.5% gets to the rest of the world. - Avery Willis, Executive Director, International Orality Network

Notice that although incompetence ranked first on the list, the next five were all attitude problems. The Carnegie Institute not long ago analyzed the records of ten thousand persons and concluded that 15 percent of success is due to technical training. The other 85 percent is due to personality, and the primary personality trait identified by the research is attitude. Our attitudes determine what we see and how we handle our feelings. These two factors greatly determine our success.

Pluralism
One aspect of exclusion and inclusion is how Americans¡¯ relate to faiths other than their own, which is particularly important in a pluralistic, multi-faith society. How Churches Contribute to Their Communities
The nationwide study shows that three-quarters of U.S. adults believe the presence of a church is ¡°very¡± (53%) or ¡°somewhat¡± positive (25%) for their community. In contrast, only one out of every 20 Americans believes that the influence of a church is negative—either very (2%) or somewhat so (3%). Over the next three years, a projected 106 million children under age 15 will lose one or both of their parents. Evangelical Christians are Gaining Influence
The Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life conducted the survey at the Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization in Cape Town last year. It found that evangelical leaders from the Global South are especially upbeat about their future, while leaders from the Global North are notably downcast. Of those surveyed from sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Central and South America, 71 percent say they expect progress for evangelical Christianity in the next five years, but only 44 percent of leaders from the Global North—Europe, North America, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand—expect the same.

U.S. evangelical leaders are especially downbeat—82 percent say evangelicals are losing influence in the United States. To everyone surveyed, the rise of secularism and emphasis on consumerism are seen as the greatest threats to evangelism—much more threatening than government restrictions on religion or, say, the influence of Islam.

The study found that 31% of pastors who lead churches within traditionally charismatic or Pentecostal denominations were described as Reformed, while 27% identified as Wesleyan/Arminian. This is somewhat surprising given that these denominations – including Assembly of God, Vineyard, Foursquare, and Church of God-Cleveland – are generally viewed as stemming from Wesleyan or Holiness traditions.
